(PEAC Health & Fitness is hosting its second annual Fall 5K run as part of PEAC’s Fall Fest on October 15, 2011. PEAC’s Fall Fest is a seasonal event full of activities, beginning with the 5K Run at 8:00am.
Runners/walkers of all ages are welcome to join the 5K run. You may register for the 5K at PEAC, with registration forms available at PEAC in advance, or the day of the event, or check our website. On Saturday, October 15th, check-in/registration for the 5K race will begin at 7:30am, with an 8:00am warm up and a starting time of 8:15am. There are discounts available for advanced registration. Early registrants will receive a free race t-shirt (t-shirts will also be available to purchase on race day while supplies last). The 5K race is sanctioned and professionally timed on a USATF certified course. There will be awards given for all participating age groups.
After the run, PEAC members and runners are invited to enjoy PEAC’s Fall Fest. We are offering a variety of events for all ages: Jack’s Greenhouse and Farm will set up a Farmer’s Market with produce, fall flowers and pumpkins. We will also offer chair massages and refreshments served from our local community. Kids will enjoy arts & crafts and a moonbounce in KidSpace. Barbara Walker, PEAC Wellness and Life Coach, will prepare a fall harvest produce food demonstration. Fall Fest also includes PEAC’s 3rd annual member Business Expo, with interactive exhibits, giveaways and door prizes to showcase our member’s business ventures.
Fall Fest attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Norma Jean DeVico and view her original water color paintings. A breast cancer survivor and current leukemia patient, Norma Jean has been working out at PEAC since June. “In conjunction with our breast cancer awareness month, we are proud to present local artist, Norma Jean DeVico’s art works at PEAC. Norma Jean is donating 30% of all art sales to the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” said Michael Briehler, PEAC President.
Finally, Chris Draper, CSCS, LDN, RD, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a licensed, registered dietitian, will be offering an indoor cycling demonstration using CompuTrainer™. PEAC’s Cycling Studio services will address every aspect of cycling and triathlon preparation, including personalized coaching, weight loss and sports nutrition.
