PEAC Health & Fitness Donates to Breast Cancer Research Foundations

On Wednesday, November 16th, PEAC presented Nancy Healey, Executive Director, of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with a check as a result of fund raising efforts for breast cancer awareness in October at PEAC.

PEAC‘s event included a pink Cybex treadmill, where PEAC donated $.10 for every mile logged in October to the SGK Foundation. PEAC also conducted raffles, massages for the cure, and special group exercise classes, plus donated a portion of the proceeds from pink sales. PEAC is proud to announce that together with our members, community and staff we raised $876 for Susan G. Komen. According to Ms. Healey, “PEAC’s donation will cover all costs for more than nine women to receive mammograms.” Norma Jean DeVico donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her art and specialty card sales to the Breast Cancer Resource Center, for a total donation of $108.

“It is with tremendous gratification we present these checks to the Breast Cancer Resource Center and Susan G. Komen. It is a testament to our supportive community and members during these strenuous financial times. PEAC would like to extend a warm thank you to Norma Jean DeVico, PEAC member, breast cancer and leukemia survivor, who donated the proceeds of her watercolor and pastel art to benefit breast cancer awareness,” said Michael Briehler, President, PEAC Health & Fitness.

PEAC has proudly supported breast cancer awareness for many years, with a total donation in just the past five years of $7,000! “To everyone who has so graciously donated and supported our “Passionately Pink” campaign, we extend a sincere thank you,” said Becky DiPierro, PEAC Club Manager.
