ChiRunning® at PEAC Health & Fitness
May 19th, 2011
PEAC is pleased to be offering a ChiRunning® (“chee-running”) course on Saturday, June 11th, 1:00 - 5:00pm with ChiRunning®/ChiWalking® certified instructor, David Stretanski. ChiRunning® and ChiWalking® combine running and walking with the principles and inner focus of T’ai Chi, an ancient Martial Art. The result is postural alignment and motion based on the body’s design, laws of physics, and simple principles of nature. HYPERLINK "http://www.chirunning.com/what-is-chirunning" ChiRunning® has its roots in San Francisco, where founder Danny Dreyer first started teaching friends and clients his technique in 1999. The brand blasted onto the international running scene in 2004 with the publication of ChiRunning®: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running, published by Simon & Schuster. In 2009, after five years of incredible success, the book was revised and rewritten, during which time, the technique became a household name.
This course is designed to improve technique, reduce or eliminate pain and injury, and promote greater distance and speed with much less effort. You will develop great posture, improve balance, strengthen core muscles, tone muscles and develop a strong mind-body connection. ChiRunning® will maximize the benefits of running and greatly reduce your chances of injury. Running can be fun, especially when you learn to do it well. ChiRunning® is open to teens and adults and pre-registration is recommended with the payment of $90 for PEAC members and $115 for non members, per participant.
Call or stop by PEAC today to sign up, as class size is limited to twelve; additional registrants will be placed on a wait list. For more information, please contact Valerie Lopenzina, Program Coordinator at PEAC 609-883-2000 or email VMLopenzina@PEAChealthfitness.com. PEAC is located at 1440 Lower Ferry Road in Ewing.
