Forever Young Open House at PEAC!
October 4th, 2011
Senior citizens today lead a more active and healthy lifestyle, thanks to exercise programs such as “Forever Young” at PEAC Health and Fitness. PEAC’s program is designed to encourage, inform, educate and promote health and fitness, exercise, flexibility, wellness and nutrition, as well as friendship and fun! “Many of our senior members enjoy our group workout programs while taking advantage of the social rewards offered here at our club,” reports Laurel Reid, Group Exercise Director.
PEAC is coordinating a week-long Forever Young Fall Open House October 24th – 28th. Throughout the open house, all first-time visiting seniors are welcome to experience PEAC and attend our special group exercise classes with a complimentary one-week pass. On Tuesday, October 25th PEAC is offering a complimentary lecture, presented by Capital Health, “Managing Joint Pain, Arthritis” at 11:30am. Rheumatoid arthritis, “RA” is a lifelong disease of the immune system that begins with inflammation in the joints. RA can cause a number of symptoms, including pain, swelling, fatigue, weakness, and stiffness (stiffness is most common in the morning), and can lead to loss of function and permanent joint damage. Discover how treatment for RA, especially early treatment, can manage symptoms, improve function, and help stop progressive joint damage.
In addition, on Thursday, October 27th from 9am-12pm, refreshments will be served in the spirit of Halloween. Costumes are encouraged and a prize for best costume will be awarded.
