Heather Raub Displays Artwork at PEAC With Photographic Tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness
September 11th, 2014

Ewing, NJ (September 11, 2014) For the month of October, PEAC Health & Fitness’s Art on Display program will honor Breast Cancer Awareness with artwork by Ewing photographer Heather Raub.

Raub’s display will be a photographic tribute to women who have been affected by breast cancer. It features individual portraits of 12 women who are breast cancer survivors or are currently faced with the disease. “I wanted to give women who have endured the physical and psychological effects of breast cancer a self esteem boost and a view of their everlasting beauty,” explained Raub. “The project emphasizes that regardless of the changes that cancer may cause their beauty continues to shine from the inside.”

According to Raub, owner of FrontRoom Images in Ewing, she received a large response to the call for volunteers for the project. She selected a group of women who best represent the range in age, race, and lifestyle that the disease affects. As part of their photo sessions, the women were treated to professional hair and makeup services, which were donated by Cristin Rose Charzewski of Cristin Rose Hair & Makeup Artistry, and Gina Kozlowski of GK Artistry. Stacy Vivino, of Philadelphia, PA, was one of the participants. “Heather's project gave me an opportunity to not only feel special but to look beautiful,” Vivino said. “Cancer has a tendency to steal the spirit and beauty from our lives. This experience reinforced the strong bonds of love that cancer can not destroy."

“We are excited to showcase such a special photography display,” said Christine Tentilucci, PEAC’s Marketing Coordinator. “It will be a meaningful addition to PEAC’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign in October.”
